When is the race? What time does it start?
The race is on Monday, September 1, 2008. The Half Marathon Walk begins at 8:00am and the Half Marathon Run and 4+ Mile Run/Walk begins at 9:00am.
How much does the race cost?
Half Marathon is $50 through 8/17/08, $55 through 8/29/08 and $60 day-of-race.
4 Mile Run/Walk is $25 through 8/17/08, $30 through 8/29/08 and $35 day-of-race.
Is the course hilly? What is the elevation gain?
For the most part, the course is fairly flat. The total climb is 396 ft and the total elevation change is 798 ft. You can check out a detailed course map by clicking here.
When do I get my t-shirt, race number, and timing chip?
If you sign-up at one of the registration outlets, you can pick-up your t-shirt and race number there. Those who signed up by mail or online can pick up their t-shirt, race number, and timing chip on race day near the start of the course beginning at 7:00am.
Important change: Everyone, including those who signed up at an outlet, will need to pick up their timing chip day-of-race.
Are strollers allowed?
Yes.
If I sign-up for the walk, can I run?
Yes you may, but you should consider signing up for the Half Marathon Run if you plan on running more than 50% of the course.
If I sign-up for the run, can I walk?
Yes you may, but keep in mind that the course will only be closed for a certain period of time. If you plan on running less than 50% of the course, please consider signing up for the Half Marathon Walk.
Should I bring my own water?
Water will be provided on the course, but feel free to carry your own.
Should I bring my own energy gel?
Energy gels will be provided for half marathon participants on the course, but feel free to bring your own.
I want to organize & register a team. Is this possible? How do I do this?
We will not be registering teams at this year's event.
Is it okay to wear an mp3 player during the race?
This race is USATF sanctioned and current USATF regulations prohibit the use of MP3 players and other devices that require headphones as they pose a safety concern. That being said, we do not plan to police the crowd at the start line to enforce this rule.
